Ekopolitik organized an iftar (fasting breaking dinner in ramadan) on 24 August in Hakkari. Among the 150 participants, people from government,municipality, media, NGO's and influential personalities took part in the event.
Ekopolitik's initiative aimed to bring together different perspectives about the conflict the country is now facing. The mayor from BDP and the officially appointed governor sat at the same table and exchanged ideas about the situation. Both of them portaied the significance of dialogue and thanked Ekopolitik for providing the appropriate framework.
After the turbulance prevailing lately in Southeast Turkey, Ekopolitik managed to show that people with different perceptions can meet and discuss in a friendly and peaceful climate. All participants congratulated Ekopolitik for its initiative and wished it will be a further step in the resolution of the tension.
